Thank you CNN for profiling KOTO on Iconic Hanoi this week! Listen to the story of one of our current trainees, Uyen, as she articulates her dreams and the story of our accomplished General Manager, Thao Nguyen.
Uyen's radiant smile hides much hurt. In her twenty years of life, Uyen has shown remarkable resilience. In primary school, Uyen's family had to flee from her very violent and abusive father. Her mother recently passed away from breast cancer. Uyen discontinued her university education, working tremendous hours across multiple jobs to try to cover her mother's medical bills. Fortunately she found KOTO. "I was stunned when I first came to KOTO as I have never seen so many smiles before. From teachers to students, everyone is radiant as well as cheerful. People are so close and treat each other like family." Uyen is incredibly hard-working and has proven to be very talented and committed to her studies at KOTO. We are so proud of her achievements to date. Uyen has started the final six months of her studies at KOTO and is hoping to complete her internship at a five star hotel on Phu Quoc Island. Continue to reach for the stars, Uyen!
